OOPS! Mahira Khan Opens Up About Being Sidelined In
Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees
People from the small town come to Mumbai with big Bollywood
dreams in their eyes, it is the usual notion of this industry. Pakistan's last
talent import was Mahira Khan who is making a debut at Shah Rukh Khan Raees.
Before his Pakistani artists like Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh
Ali Khan and Fawad Khan have become big in Bollywood. But Raees could be his
first and last film in Bollywood due to tensions between the two countries that
have led to the banning of Pakistani Indian filmmakers. In addition, his big
debut in Bollywood might not be released in his own country.
In a frank interview titled, "THE INTERVIEW OF THE
ICON: Introducing the Raeeszadi," when asked about whether she is disappointed
that Raees most likely does not release in Pakistan. To this she quickly said,
"Of course! I want my country to see this.I want everyone to see it, every
person in the world. My friends keep saying that you did it, it's enough, you
can keep it in a box somewhere I do, but there's a part of me that says, no, I
want everyone to see my blood, sweat and tears during these two years because
it's been hard and I want people to see it, even if I fail at it.
But if one thing I've learned in these two years is that
there are some things out of control. I mean you can save a scene, you can fix
things later in the movie, but there are some things that are out of your
reach. You can not do anything. But I'm dying to come here.
She speaks of feeling excluded and probably missing in her
presentation of 'Introduction to Mahira Khan' in the initial credit of Raees.
Being reminded about "normal" people instead of thinking they have an
enchanted life. She shoots back and says, "That's what my mother says
too!" And my friends! "But I can not go on, it's my job."
"Yes, I'm grateful, but it's something I've worked for! I just want to be
in an interview with Shah Rukh Khan talking about it.Why not? Why do they tell
me that this is asking It's my right, this was my movie, too. "
From getting a new script every day six months ago, to the
producers now saying that there is no margin, let's go back to the dramas, you
can not help but feel sad about the fact that things have changed drastically
after the unfortunate incident.
In the same interview, she also talks about forging strong
relationships while pulling for the film and being extremely grateful to her
producer Ritesh Sidhwani and director Rahul Dholakia.
